You've surely heard about Olaplex on social media lately. Why is there so much hype around this brand? Is Olaplex effective for damaged hair? That's what we'll find out in this article!
______________
The Olaplex Brand
Olaplex started in 2014 in a Santa Barbara garage, spearheaded by two scientists: Dr. Eric Pressly and Dr. Craig Hawker. They shared a common goal: to create a range of hair care products with the power to make hair stronger than its natural state and to repair damaged ends.
This objective was achieved thanks to a unique patented technology: Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate, an ingredient with a somewhat barbarous name.
This cosmetic ingredient preserves the integrity of the hair, regardless of the hair treatment it has undergone or its natural type. Protected by several international patents, the Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate molecule is therefore the major asset of Olaplex, found in all products of the brand.
With Olaplex, caused damage is attenuated permanently. Hair is instantly softer, shinier, more elastic, and better hydrated. Olaplex products work equally well on curly or straight, natural or (de)colored hair. They are also effective hair care products for protecting hair from ambient pollution.
Olaplex Products
The various products are numbered 1 to 5 according to their order of use. The first 2 steps are reserved exclusively for hair professionals and are performed in the salon, while the next 3 are for at-home maintenance. There are also treatments from 6 to 9 for styling and enhancing hair outside of technical services.
- Intensive Bond Building Hair Treatment : a repairing treatment for at-home use, complementing N°3 for intensive repair up to 68%.
