The success story of a Californian start-up
Olaplex started in 2014 in a Santa Barbara garage, driven by two scientists: Dr. Eric Pressly and Dr. Craig Hawker. They shared a common goal: to create a range of hair care products capable of making hair stronger and more consistent than natural hair, as well as repairing damaged ends.
A goal achieved thanks to a unique patented technology: Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate, an ingredient with a somewhat barbaric name.
The secret of Olaplex
This cosmetic ingredient preserves the integrity of the hair, regardless of the hair treatment it has undergone and regardless of its nature. Protected by several international patents, the Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate molecule is therefore Olaplex's major asset, found in all the brand's products.
An ingredient that makes Olaplex stand out, because it acts on the molecular structure of the hair fiber. Indeed, it quickly restores disulfide bonds broken by chemical, thermal, or mechanical treatments. It is these broken bonds that make hair dry and brittle.

- N°4 (Bond Maintenance Shampoo): shampoo to be used after coloring/bleaching.
- N°4P (Blonde Enhancer Toning Shampoo): enhancing shampoo for blonde (natural and lightened), gray, and highlighted hair.
- N°5 (Bond Maintenance Conditioner): conditioner to be used after coloring/bleaching.
- N°6 (Bond Smoother): discipline-enhancing, leave-in styling cream offering smoothing properties for 72 hours.
