From family business to international leader
Originally, Sinelco was founded in Belgium in 1943 by Albert Denhaerynk, who wanted to produce hairnets with his wife and children. At the time, the private limited company bore his family name.
Despite the turmoil of World War II, the small company was not weakened; it expanded and moved its production line to a larger factory.
The 1960s continued to be a period of development, as combs and hairdressing capes were added to Denhaerynk's offering, then marketed under the Sibel brand. In 1964, goodbye family name, hello Prosibel!
Several years later, Prosibel continued to grow, to the point of acquiring its largest French competitor, Nelson, in 1997. The company was therefore renamed a second time to finally become Sinelco International, the name known today. This marked the beginning of Sinelco's partnerships with international producers.
The 2000s were also very important for the Belgian company, as 2009 saw the integration of the American holding company Sally Beauty, as well as the launch of its own online commercial platform. The success was such that a year later, Sinelco was able to launch 2 new production lines: beauty and furniture.
In 2013, it was the apotheosis: Sinelco recorded a growth of 3%, or 40.3 million euros in turnover. A fine example of "Made in Belgium" success!
