If you're a true Beauty Addict, you've probably heard a lot in recent weeks about this new trend that's taking the web by storm and igniting passions among beauty bloggers: No Poo!
______________

What's that? Huh? No-Lice? My head doesn't itch!

No, "No Poo" is short for "No Shampoo," which means washing your hair without shampoo, opting for a simple water rinse instead!

Completely crazy, you might say? Not really! The many women who have tried No Poo claim to have regained ultra-shiny hair and incredible volume.

At a time when "parabens, silicones, PEGs, polyethanol..." are being criticized by the media, it's clear that the "No Poo" method is on the rise! But what should we think of this archaic method that seems to come from our great-great-great-grandmother?

Completely disgusting for some, a miraculous solution for others, discover our feedback on a trend that is far from done making headlines in the blogosphere!

The little story of No Poo

Once upon a time, there was a young American hairdresser named Lorraine Massey who was looking for an effective solution to rehydrate the dry and curly hair of her disillusioned clients. After trying a multitude of hair products without convincing results, she had the idea of stopping the use of shampoo!

After several months of "no poo," her hair was as if freed from all chemical substances. Now much healthier and especially very shiny. No Poo was born!

Today, more and more women around the world have been tempted by the No Poo concept: Some only rinse their hair with clear water, others use conditioner or even "homemade" mixtures based on baking soda, cornstarch, apple cider vinegar, lemon.

Once adopted, most of them can no longer do without it! But ultimately, what are the benefits of No Poo?

The advantages of No Poo

  • No more harsh and drying chemical agents for the scalp
  • 100% natural method
  • Hair gets less greasy because "washes" are spaced out.
  • Economical solution (no need to invest in shampoo anymore)
  • Shiny hair with plenty of volume

If you want to try the movement, here are some secrets to successfully banish shampoo from your beauty routine.

Some tips to successfully start your transition

Firstly, you should not stop using your usual shampoo overnight. That would be too brutal! Indeed, you must first space out your shampoos to manage to do only one per week. To help you get through this difficult stage, do not hesitate to use dry shampoo.

After that, you must prioritize hair brushing! This is one of the major rules for successful No Poo! Twice a day, brush your mane from root to tip. This action will then allow you to distribute sebum throughout the length of the hair shaft and thus avoid the "greasy hair" effect.

Now, opt for a boar bristle brush and brush your hair thoroughly in all directions (head down, sideways, etc.) to air out your hair. Your brush will certainly be dirty after brushing, which is why you must clean it thoroughly with soap and water every 2/3 days.

Finally, if you have difficulty removing shampoo from your beauty-list, you can opt for "Low Poo". Less radical, this method consists of washing your hair with conditioner. Indeed, conditioners, just like shampoo, contain cleansing agents.
