______________

What is acrygel?

Acrygel is simply a technique for creating nail extensions. It's a very common practice in the world of manicures and nail care. There are various techniques to achieve this result.

Acrygel combines UV gel and resin. It is obtained from a mixture of UV gel, which has a thick liquid or viscous texture that solidifies under a UV/LED lamp, and resin, which is in the form of acrylic powder and monomer liquid. The latter sets and hardens in the open air.

In the nail industry, acrylic gel is a two-in-one product that has the benefits of both.

Acrygel has a texture that is both thick and viscous, yet does not run. It is therefore easy to handle and provides perfect adhesion to natural nails.

Equipment for application

How to apply acrygel?

Applying acrygel involves 3 main steps:

  1. Preparation phase: This phase is essential for all types of manicures. It ensures good adhesion of the product applied afterwards. First, gently file the nail plate to remove any residue. Then apply cleaner to each finger to degrease it. Once the nail plate is filed to the desired shape, push back the cuticles.
  2. Acrygel application: You can now apply a primer followed by a base coat to your nails before applying the acrygel. The base coat protects the nail and also improves the longevity of your manicure. Cure it for 30 seconds under your UV lamp. First step: choose popits suitable for the size and shape of your nails. Then, place a pea-sized amount of acrygel into the popit. Spread it evenly over the surface with a brush soaked in a special acrygel solution. Moistening the brush will allow you to shape the building gel to achieve the desired form. Once this step is complete, apply the tip to your natural nails. Press lightly to adhere the gel to the nail. Then cure under the UV lamp for 1 to 2 minutes.
  3. Finishing phase: Gently remove the tip and proceed with your desired finish. You can choose to apply a top coat or a semi-permanent color. Don't forget to cure at each step. And voilà!

How to remove it?

Acrylic gel can be removed using either a polishing file or an electric nail drill. You can also remove or perfect the removal of acrygel by soaking your fingers in acetone remover.

The process is similar to UV gel; your nail will be more flexible for 12 to 24 hours after removal. Indeed, acrygel temporarily increases the amount of moisture in the nail plate by 10 to 15%.

It is important to hydrate your cuticles and nail plate using a nourishing oil or a hand cream.

Advantages of acrygel

  • Its durability : lasting from 3 to 4 weeks depending on nail maintenance
  • The ease of application : it has a malleable, pleasant, and easy-to-work-with texture
  • Practical and aesthetic : wide choice of colors and finishes
  • Resistant : it resists shocks and scratches, so you no longer have to worry about DIY or cooking.
