To highlight your eyes, intensify their color, and frame your face – that's what eyebrows are for!
Just as you need to maintain your body hair, your eyebrows also require waxing. Nothing is more unsightly than a unibrow or unruly arches. For a uniform result, there are several techniques. The first is simply to opt for waxing at a salon. Effective but restrictive and expensive in the long run, you might get tired of this practice.
______________
Waxing with or without tweezers? The choice is yours, provided you follow certain steps!
HOW TO TWEeze YOUR EYEBROWS?
The essential accessory to have in your makeup bag! This tool is practical for removing small hairs that start to grow in the middle of your eyebrow. For perfect eyebrows without going to a salon, here are some tips.
1. Choose your tweezers carefully
Each tweezer is adapted to a specific area and type of hair. For eyebrows, two types are recommended. The slant-tip tweezers and the crab tweezers. The slant-tip, resistant and precise, will take care of the most sensitive areas. Use the latter to groom your eyebrow arches. The crab tweezers, on the other hand, are designed to treat central areas. Make good use of them on the middle of your eyebrows.
2. When to tweeze?
The ideal time to tweeze is after showering. When your skin is dry, clean, but the pores are still dilated thanks to the warm water.
3. Prepare your eyebrows
Using a toothbrush, smooth your eyebrow hairs from the center outwards. Once that's done, grab a small pair of scissors to carefully trim any hairs that extend beyond your eyebrows' natural line.
4. Goodbye hairs!
It's time to grab your tweezers! Start by using the crab tweezers and remove one by one the unsightly hairs in the center of your arches. Then use the slant-tip tweezers to take care of the outline of your eyebrows. Start from underneath. Eliminate one by one the small hairs growing beyond the natural line. Take good care of the ends. However, avoid tackling the top of the eyebrow so as not to end up with an imbalance. Especially if you are a beginner in this field.
5. Hydrate to soften
At the end of your little torture session, apply your usual moisturizer to soften and soothe your skin!
HOW TO WAX YOUR EYEBROWS WITHOUT TWEEZERS?
Even if tweezers remain an essential classic for pampering your eyebrows, their use can be unpleasant. There is another waxing method that is just as effective and less painful: threading!
1. All it takes is a thread
Get a simple spool of thread. Prefer cotton ones, which are softer and less aggressive for the skin.
3. Design your eyebrows
Before waxing, choose the desired eyebrow shape using an eyebrow pencil. It will be used to delineate the areas.

3. Prepare your thread
- Cut a piece of thread the length of your forearm
- Tie the two ends together to form a loop
- Insert your index finger and thumb into the loop and stretch the thread
- Hold your thumb and index finger on each side of the loop. Turn your hand clockwise and wrap the thread around itself six times.
- This will form two hourglasses that you will need to hold with the thumb and index finger of each of your hands.
- Bring your thumb and index finger of your right hand together while keeping those of your left hand apart.
- Spread your thumb and index finger of your right hand. The rolled thread in the center will automatically move to the left and trap the targeted hairs to uproot them.
4. Methods to follow
Place the central part of the thread against the direction of hair growth.
Example: for the left eyebrow
Position the right triangle of the loop so that it surrounds the hairs to be removed. The second triangle should be directed to the top of the eyebrow with the index finger and thumb of the left hand close together. Separate the fingers of the left hand. The rolled thread will move by itself and remove the hairs.
You will just need to perform the same operation with the right eyebrow, but in the opposite direction.
4. Post-waxing hydration
Apply a soothing cream to relieve possible irritations.
